Normally I only posts photographs and write nothing but I just have to share this with you (:

I had an amazing time in Berlin last thursday and friday. We Are Cecile went there to do a photoshoot with Stefan Schipper  and they took me with them to shoot some behind the scenes videos! (and some photos of course, I even took a few analogue).

It was extremely cool to see Stefan Schipper make photographs, he’s such a great photographer and the way he works (and how fast!) is fascinating. We went to so many different locations in such a short time I can’t even tell which was my favourite. I’m very curious for his photographs, you should check out his website, or facebook, as well!

Besides from the things I’ve learned from watching Stefan I also learned my knowledge of the German language is even worse than I thought! I used to be quite good at German while I was in school, but haven’t spoken it in some years so I tried to practice a little last week, and I figured I would understand most of the things. But I guess being in Germany with 6 German guys (Stefan is Dutch as well) takes a bit more knowledge… haha. Luckily enough they all speak English, and Alex speaks Dutch, but I should definitely practice some more, maybe even take some lessons again.
As far as I could talk to them and understand everything they’re are really nice guys, not only because of their looks… They’re cool, very charismatic and have a great taste in music for sure! (well besides from the occasional Vengaboys songs, can you even believe that?)

And yes it does take a long, long time to go from Gronau to Berlin by car, especially when you get stuck in traffic jams, but being in good company makes it a whole lot more bearable. And the purpose and having Berlin as a destination are worth it! I’ve only been there once before but I’s quite different when you go there as a tourist, I liked this much more.

Well I could probably keep on writing but I guess I’m a bit better with photographs than words so I won’t bore you guys anymore. By the time the video is finished I’ll post it on this site as well.
So: great guys, great photographer, great city, thanks so much for this amazing experience!

If you don’t know We Are Cecile yet you should really check them out, view their videos, visit a show once (or more often) I’m sure you’ll like it, even if you normally don’t listen to that kind of music. At least I know that I just can’t wait to take photographs of one of their shows again.

Paderborn is 2 uur en 15 minuten vanaf Enschede, maar het sowieso waard. Münster is het dichtstbij Enschede, ongeveer een uur rijden geloof ik. Is te doen toch? :)
